Ryan P. Rothrock, CIC, ARM, AAI
Executive Vice President/Commercial Account Executive
Ryan is responsible for managing overall office performance, generating new client opportunities and seeking external acquisitions. He began his career with Brown & Brown at the corporate headquarters in Daytona Beach, Florida, part of a team performing financial audits on Brown & Brown offices and due diligence work on prospective acquisitions. Ryan spent the next 2 years of his Brown & Brown tenure in the Naples and Charlotte County offices in southwest Florida before transferring to the Austin office.
A graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Ryan earned a B.S. in Business Administration. He served as captain of the Embry-Riddle basketball team for two years and was the point guard for the 2000 team that won the National Championship. He played 1½ seasons of professional basketball in the U.S. and Europe before joining Brown & Brown.
Ryan has earned the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), the Associate in Risk Management (ARM) and the Accredited Advisor in Insurance (AAI) designations and is currently working towards his Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation.
An Illinois native, Ryan is married to Brooke, a Kentucky native and elementary school teacher. They have embraced the Austin community and have become actively involved in volunteer work with several local civic and church organizations.
Michael J. Hermes, CIC
Senior Vice President / Commercial Account Executive
Mike began his insurance career in 1983 working for a small Austin agency which he eventually acquired in 1985. Following several additional acquisitions the agency merged in 1993 and Mike became a principal of Balcones-Southwest, Inc. until the agency was acquired by Brown and Brown, Inc. in 2004. Mike served in the leadership roll of Brown and Brown of Austin through 2007.
Mike currently maintains and builds relationships with his clients and works on the creation of new accounts primarily in the technology, healthcare, and non-profit sectors.
Mike is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma. He has served in leadership roles and advisory councils of a number of insurance industry organizations and companies. He also serves the Austin community through volunteer work and board membership with some of Austin’s most notable non-profit organizations.
Vicky Gaulding Lindsey, CIC, PIWT
Senior Vice President / Personal Account Executive
As a native Austinite, and a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, majoring in insurance, Vicky entered the insurance business as a licensed property and casualty agent. Involved in every aspect of sales and operations, she advanced to CEO of Texas Insurance Services, Inc. and Gaulding Insurance Agency. In 2000, joining the partners of Balcones-Southwest, she brought a wealth of knowledge and experience to the personal lines division. Today, partnering with Brown & Brown, Vicky continues to expand the agency’s personal lines footprint in the Central Texas area. Vicky is active in numerous professional and community organizations, currently serving on several national insurance advisory councils.

Commercial/Employee Benefits Account Executive
Nick is responsible for creating new synergy through strategic and value based sales for Brown & Brown of Austin’s commercial lines and employee benefit divisions. Currently acting as Commercial Account Executive, Nick’s focus will be attracting new accounts and servicing existing accounts with traditional insurance products. He is a native Texan and graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Arts degree and Certification in Business from the Red McCombs School of Business. Nick brings major account division sales and consulting experience to the agency, as well as expertise in the semiconductor/electronic design automation, technology services and process outsourcing industries. With his consultative sales approach Nick has successfully built lasting business relationships while helping organizations meet their goals.
William Crouch
Commercial Account Executive
Growing up in Austin and after graduating from Westlake High School, Will selected the University of Texas at Austin to complete his education. Majoring in Corporate Communication, he graduated with a degree in Communication Studies. Competing as a UT baseball letterman, Will was named to the All-Regional and All-College World Series Team after helping the Longhorns win a National Championship in 2005. Soon after, he signed a professional baseball contract with the Arizona Diamondbacks. Will spent 2 years in the D-backs organization making stops in Missoula, MT and South Bend, IN.
Will has since returned to Austin to join Brown & Brown of Austin’s office as a licensed property and casualty agent. He is currently concentrating on attracting and servicing accounts in the health care, sports entertainment, and property management and development sectors. Will negotiates cost effective insurance placement and risk management solutions to align with his client’s core business objectives.
Taking advantage of the natural Texas Hill Country beauty surrounding Austin, Will enjoys golf, running, and water sports. Tune into Texas Sports Extra during baseball season (Saturdays at noon on K-EYE 42) to watch “At the Plate with Will Crouch”.
John C. Taylor

John brings over 11 years of employee benefits experience to Brown & Brown offering clients improvements and enhancements to their benefits packages utilizing traditional carrier funded, self-funded, and voluntary arrangements. He will assist companies of all sizes by managing a variety of complicated processes through a convenient single source solution.

After concentrating studies in Business Administration at the University of Texas at Austin, John began his carrier with Humana, recognized as a top national producer delivering premium workplace solutions and building relationships based on quality and trust. He has served on the Blue Cross Blue Shield Board of Advisors and on the Humana Broker Council. John is certified in ZYWAVE, COBRA compliance and is a current member of the Austin Association of Health Underwriters.

As a result of the strategic alliance between Brown & Brown and Sagemark Consulting, the financial planning arm of the Lincoln Financial Group, Brown & Brown of Austin's clients now have access to Clint's expertise in the areas of comprehensive financial planning, insurance and investments. Clint also has considerable experience in the areas of qualified plans and succession planning for small businesses. Clint has spent most of his life in Central and South Texas and takes every chance he can to enjoy the numerous outdoor activities that this area has to offer. Clint is a Certified Financial Planner(r) Practitioner. He received his MBA from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University (Dallas) in 2001 and his BBA from Texas State University (San Marcos) in 1996. Clint is an active member of the Financial Planning Association(r), the leadership and advocacy organization representing the financial planning profession.
